This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through this website, online booking, our AI Dental Advisor chat, and when you contact us; how we use and share it; and your choices, including about text messages.
This policy applies to Harmon and Otteson Dental Eastern LLC (dba Bellisima Dental and Orthodontics) (“we,” “us,” or “our”). As a HIPAA-covered dental practice, we also protect identifiable health information we receive or keep, including information you send us through online booking and the chat, as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which is available at our office. If this policy and that notice differ for health information, the Notice of Privacy Practices controls.
Information We Collect
- Appointment requests: when you fill out the appointment-request form on this website, your name, mobile phone number, email address if you give one, and whether you agreed to receive text messages.
- Online booking: your name, phone number, email address, date of birth, the service, date, and time you choose, the language of the page you booked from, and whether you agreed to receive text messages.
- AI Dental Advisor chat: the messages you type. To find or book an appointment for you, the chat may ask for your name, date of birth, and phone number, and it may add a short scheduling note you give it.
- Calls, emails, and visits: information you give us when you contact us or come to our office.
- Technical information: our web host receives standard technical data, such as your IP address and browser type, as with any website.
- Smile Studio photos: if you use the Smile Studio on our home page, the photo you add is sent to an AI imaging provider only to create your smile preview. We do not save the photo or the preview to your patient record or anywhere else on our systems. The provider deletes uploaded photos after 24 hours.
What We Do Not Do
We do not use the Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, advertising cookies, or similar third-party tracking tools on this website. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to respond to your appointment request; to book, confirm, and manage appointments, including those you book online or through the chat; to answer your questions; to provide dental care and handle billing, as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices; to keep this website secure and prevent abuse; and to meet legal requirements.
Text Messages
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your mobile opt-in information and SMS/text-messaging consent are NOT shared, sold, rented, or otherwise disclosed to any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
If you agree to receive text messages, for example by checking the text-message box on our appointment-request form, online booking form, or chat, we may text you about scheduling the appointment you requested, answering your scheduling questions, and confirming your booking. These texts are sent through a messaging service provider. Agreeing to receive texts is optional and is not a condition of any purchase or of receiving care. Message frequency varies. Who We Share Information With
We share information only as needed to run our practice and this website:
- Our practice management system, which holds appointment and patient records.
- Our website host and database provider, which run this website and its booking and chat features and receive appointment-request form submissions for us.
- An AI language-model provider, which processes AI Dental Advisor chat messages to write the chat’s replies.
- Our text-messaging provider, which sends text messages for us only to people who agreed to receive them.
- An AI imaging provider, which creates Smile Studio previews from photos you choose to add.
- Government authorities or others, when the law requires it or to protect the rights and safety of patients, staff, or the public.
Your Health Information
We are a dental practice covered by HIPAA. Identifiable health information we receive or keep, including appointments booked online or through the chat, is protected health information. Our Notice of Privacy Practices, available at our office, explains how we may use and share it and your rights, including your right to see and get a copy of your records.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep dental records for as long as the law requires, and other information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. AI Dental Advisor conversations are also kept in your own browser for the current tab, so they survive a page reload; they are deleted when you close the tab or press the chat’s “Start over” button.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) to this website. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian should request or book appointments and provide information for a child.
Nevada Residents
Nevada law lets consumers ask a business not to sell certain personal information. We do not sell personal information. To make a request or ask a question, email us at officeadmin@bellisimadental.com.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
